The Unidad Urbana De Bomberos Y Rescate (UUBR) is a volunteer firefighting and rescue organization located in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. Firefighters Without Border’s (FWB) goal was to provide three training programs: SCBA Training, Highrise Training, and Vehicle Rescue.

Over the course of two visits in 2018, FWB partnered with the Canadian Executive Service Organization (CESO) to deliver the three courses with the necessary training equipment. Donated equipment included self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), air cylinders, bunker gear, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Hazardous Material (HazMat) equipment, extrication tools, firehoses, foam, fans, radios, and flashlights.

Training programs were delivered in the train-the-trainer format and included both theoretical and practical training. For each of the training programs, FWB training manuals were provided in Spanish.

Twenty-five firefighters from Santa Cruz, La Paz, Paraguay, and the Santa Cruz Airport completed the training.
